In Koktebel artificial reefs will be set

On August, 16-22 in Koktebel under an aegis of the Noncommercial charity fund of development of the submarine ecological programs the fourth festival «Artificial Reefs – 2008» will take place

It has already become the tradition to conduct the festival «The Artificial reefs» in Koktebel. Four years in succession on the bottom of Koktebel bay (from the Quiet bay to Karadag) reefballs were set. They are artificial reefs which imitate natural reefs and does not yield on functionality to natural stone and shell ground reefs. They are quickly populated by the inhabitants of bay, clearing salt water.

On August, 16-22 in Koktebel under an aegis of the Noncommercial charity fund of development of the submarine ecological programs the fourth festival «Artificial Reefs – 2008» will take place.

In the organizational committee of festival reported that on August, 4 the ecological festival started in Bulgaria, it will stop workimg on August, 10. Then the initiative group will arrive to Koktebel for founding of artificial reefs.

– Artificial reefs already gave the positive result in marine water treatment in the bay, therefore the settlement council decided to support the participants of this festival, – the deputy of Koktebel council Eugen Prochukhanov reported to «Kafa». – Traditionally local-authorities and employees of Karadag natural preserve welcome the similar ecological programs.

After Koktebel the festival will continue in Byelorussia, and from 22 to 26 September it returns to the Crimea, on the beachs of Massandra.
